When in Pandanon…

Last October 19, 2016, me and two of my college friends planned to go for an adventure in a mountain resort located at the boundary of Murcia and Don Salvador Benedicto, Negros Occidental. The resort was locally known as Pandanon Valley Resort.

It was a 45 minutes drive from Bacolod City. The resort was situated beside a mountain, near a river and was accessible through the highway. We commuted through air-con bus transport costing P55.00 per passenger from Bacolod City.

When we get there, I can feel the coldness of the air given that Brgy. Pandanon is nearly part of the summer capital of Negros Occidental. The weather isn’t good that day but it didn’t stop us from visiting. From the highway, I can see the place surrounded by trees and green plants. No other noise can be heard but the voice of the river. And only fresh air is there to breath. As someone from the City, it feels so relaxing to be there and reunited with Mother Nature.

Foot-walk going to the Resort

Pandanon Valley Resort is one place to spend sometime with friends and family. Entrance fee is P20.00 only and P50.00 for the swimming pool. They have small houses were visitors can stay and spend the day with costs ranging from P300.00, P700.00 and P1,000.00. Visitors can also enjoy the river whenever the weather is favorable with no extra charges. For groups who wants to grill, there’s available place. They also served food from there canteen if ever you come without packed lunch. They also accepts accommodation if you’d like to spend overnight. You can visit there Facebook page for reference.

But we are a little disappointed because when we get there, it’s timing that the swimming pool was being cleaned. On this day, we just let our eyes enjoy the place. Take as much pictures as we can and just eat our packed lunch. But I didn’t have one so I only ordered cup noodles from the resort’s store. The rain already starts to pour heavy and we just decided to stay until it stops.

It’s a very relaxing place and I hope to visit again to experience the coldness of the pool. By the way, the water in the swimming pool is flowing from spring in mountain. There’s no chlorine or alike. That makes it more relaxing.

If you happen to pass this place, I hope you’ve enjoyed it too. 😊
